I recently had a mammogram and an ultrasound showing a density in my left breast. The Dr. agreed that a 6 month follow up would be prudent and he ordered an MRI because I am a high risk patient. I got the MRI and then received a call that a stereotactic biopsy has been ordered. What would an MRI show to change his mind, he already had a lot of data.

Well, it would show the density area more clearly but I would think that the 'change of mind' rather stems from being cautious only, just to make sure....

Thanks for replying. My biopsy is scheduled for Monday the 15th. I had a lump removed in my right breast 3 years ago with tissue showing displaysia and am currently taking evistra. I will let you know the results after the biopsy, but really don''t want to have it I am very nervous about this procedure.
