I'm still pretty sore but wanted to let you all know that the sentinal nodes were negative. I think I remember hearing the nurse say that the tumour was 1 cm but I am not sure if I imagined that or not. I was pretty groggy. I called the dr. office today to find out, but they said I had to wait until my appointment on thursday for the pathology report to be ready.

I had a wire localization, lumpectomy and sentinal node dissection. It was pretty unpleasant. I guess my tolerance for pain is pretty low. I would like to post my experience when my arm feels a little better and I feel like I can type for awhile. It would be therapeutic for me and might help somebody else about to have the procedure. I know reading others experiences has helped me.

I'm just glad this part is over with. Thanks for all the well wishes.

Wire localizations are never fun. I had one where they stuck two wires in, hoping to mark the spot they wanted where the wires crossed. As it turned out, they took the wrong tissue out anyway. Whee!
Fortune knocks but once, but misfortune has much more patience.

Glad it went okay. Sorry about the pain. My wire localization could have been more fun, but I survived. The rest was a breeze. Hopefully tomorrow you are feeling very good!!
