As you know breast cancer emotionally and physically ravages 1 in 8 women. Early detection saves lives, it is one of the keys to survival. The vast majority of women don’t perform a monthly self exam. Less than 14% of women actually do perform their monthly breast self-exams.

I would like to make you aware of a wonderful product that enables a woman to get into the habit of performing such an important self-exam, and do so much more effectively. The Breast Chek Aid is a patented, medically endorsed, simple to use, inexpensive medical device. It is a product EVERY woman should have. I am on a Mission to get a Breast Chek kit into every woman’s hands.

Please visit my website where you can read and view for yourself the effectiveness of this product and please contact me if you like more information about the Breast Chek Aid.

A friend of mine had 2 lumps in her breasts, thank God they were not cancer, but it scared me and her. When I found the Breast Chek Kit, I knew I had to tell women about it. Discovering a lump early can make the difference between chemotherapy and not having chemotheray. Early detection is one of the keys to survival of this horrible disease.

You also know that (some) women rather not check in order to apply the (no, it won't happen to me) method a lot?

That is why is so important to make them aware that 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer. If I talk to 8 women, I may save one of their lives.

Hello there:
I wanted to make you aware that many breast cancers are not discovered by self breast exams as you know. I examined my breasts every month and had no changes whatsoever. I thought with not having a history of breast cancer in the family and not feeling any lumps or seeing changes that I was OK. I made the mistake of putting off my mammograms. When I finally got it done they found a fairly large area of DCIS (which cannot be felt) and upon surgery a 1.1 cm of invasive area. If I had known more about DCIS I would have been faithful to my mammograms instead of relying solely on self breast exams which I know save many lives. I spoke with someone at the American Cancer Society and told them the importance of teaching more about DCIS and that many breast cancers cannot be felt until they are invasive. They told me that they are going to do more to educate women on this issue.

katieu2, welcome to the forum

I agree. Most cancers go unnoticed. With breastcancer it is very important to get checked regularly. This will prevent fatal results. However it is also very understandable that women who are living regular lives are afraid to entering this specific area - since many still believe that what isn't acknowledged isn't existing...

Hi Debbie:
I just read your reply to my post from a month ago. I was surprised to hear you found your lump 6 months after your checkup. Had they done a mammogram at the time you were checked out?
I've been driving myself batty researching everything possible over the past two months that can help in this fight. I hope you don't mind me sharing this information with everyone.
The first thing I found is that Vitamin D is much more important than we think for overall health and most women (3/4) with breast cancer have low levels of Vitamin D. I had mine checked. It was a low of 20 (normal 32 - 100) I started supplementing with Vitamin D3 and trying to get time out in the sun every day for 45 minutes with no sunscreen. The 400 IU's of RDA is grossly underestimated and 10 times that amount is probably more in line but of course you have to check with your health care provider before starting anything.
Another bit of information I came across was the positive use of NSAIDS (namely Motrin and to a lesser extent the benefit Aspirin.) This decreases the inflammatory process that is often associated with cancers. Research has found that women who have been taking Motrin over the years for arthritis or similar have very low rates of breast cancer compared to the general population. Its seems to have a protective effect. Of course Motrin can have other side effects, but it is something to consider in the big scheme of things. Last but not least I have found information on the lack of Iodine in our diets and how it is related to cancer. All of these things can be researched on Google at your convenience. I haven't had my Iodine level checked but will be doing so shortly.
I think that by combining holistic approaches with conventional therapies we will have our greatest success.
Love to everyone!!
Katie
