I had a fibroadenoma removed from my breast 3 years ago, and since have had some other lumps growing, i am under constant mammo survailance, and they will be and have done core needle biopsys, in which they found microcalcifications. I am stressed out by the fact that the lumps keep growing and am wondering since my family has a strong breasts cancer history (without the gene) if I should consider having a masectomy to relieve the problems and live in peace. ( I am passed the breast feeding stage... so this wouldn't be impossible for me to consider)

Jeane, I'm sorry for your confusion. Many of us have been in your position. You are not alone. I would say that you need to ask your DR. if they have any suggestion as to the safest way to go for your health. If where you go for treatment, has a counselor who can help you work through this (AFTER your Dr. tells you their diagnosis advise), you may feel better talking this out with them. This is their job, and they are highly trained.
