Hello everyone

I have a question. I'm a 28 year old male in pretty good health. Last Sunday I noticed a small lump on my right breast. It's about he size of a pea, hard and does not seem to be attached to my chest (not completely stationary).

At first I thought that perhaps it was a bruise because there is a bruise like discoloration around the lump. However, I haven't recieved any blows to the chest nor have I done anthing strenuous that would cause bruising. And I've never seen such a 'ball like' bruise.

Anyway, I decided to see if it was a bruise or something simple and waited a couple of days. Well, it's still here. Pretty much looks just like it did when i found it. It doesn't 'hurt' however it is somewhat tender and I am aware when it is being touched.

Unlike some of the symptoms I've read about male breast cancer, my lump in higher on my chest and closer to my armpit. I do not have any other symptoms other than the lump.

Has anyone else had an experiece similiar to this? I guess a lump found found anywhere on my body is not a good sign, however I wondering if I should be more concerned. I'm a little nervous but don't want to get over excited.

Should I observe it a few more days to see if it goes back down or should I have this looked at immediately?

Thank you for your help.

I'd have it looked at - the peace of mind would definetely be worth it to me.
If you have an apple and I have an apple and we exchange these apples then you and I will still each have one apple. But if you have an idea and I have an idea and we exchange these ideas, then each of us will have two ideas.

Jaime, By all means please go to your doctor, men can get breast cancer too. That doesn't mean you have it, but don't set and guess either, if it should be, early treatment is the best way to go. Plus it will put your mind at ease knowing.

Go and get it looked at. Chances are very likely that it's nothing but if it's not it needs sorting! My best friend Steve is a 5 year male breast cancer survivor and testimony to early diagnosis and treatment. Rachel
