I took tamoxifen for 9 months and had so many side effect (depression, fatigue, night sweats, joint pain, weight gain) i had to stop. Since i've stopped, i lost a little but still can't loose the rest of the weight. I limit my calories, exercise 6 times a week, but my weight won't budge. It's almost like my body went into menopause and i'm only 39! Does anyone else have a similar story? will my body ever bounce back?

In the "Related Posts" section listed under your post, this is discussed by other posters. It seems that weight gain can often be a side effect of various cancer treatments. It may well be a long, hard time to get it off. Your body may be in a sort of "survival mode" after the rough time it has experienced, and is trying to hold on to the weight in case it has to recover from more trauma.

I had some similar side effects with Tamoxifen, including frequent yeast infections, UTIs, joint pain, and muscle spasms in my legs and feet at night.
I didn't have weight gain but I had to stop taking it after a year.
If you had depression and are taking antidepressants, those are known to cause weight gain. I had a 20lb weight gain on antidepressants and had not only to stop, but do some seriously strict calorie reductions to get it off.
Now I try to keep my calorie intake to 1700/day.

I am going through the same symtoms. I have the hot flashes, wiehgt gain and mood changes. I did not feel like myself at all. I did stop taking it. I am looking at what other alternatives are available.
