Hello again, I hope you all had a great holiday season. I know I did. I have recently had my second chemo treatment and much like the first one it went pretty well. I have developed breast pain associatead with the lumpectomy incision. One other time the breast was quite obviously swollen and needed to be drained - we took out about 200 cc of fluid at that time. Just this afternoon the incision became tender to the touch. My husband tells me it doesn't look different but as the evening wears on it is getting to the point of being almost painful. Any ideas? I've read that this is something that I may just have to learn to live with! I hope not.

Hi Darla, sorry that you are having discomfort. The one tried and true pain reliever that has always worked for me was ice. It can reduce swelling as well. I am not sure whether or not you want to take an added, oral painkiller, but that might be something to check with your physician about, if needed. One thing that I have started to use to help with healing is aloe vera gel--100% natural. I think it helps. Hope the discomfort clears up soon. Take care. {{{Hugs}}}
