Hi. I didn't need the needle biopsy as lady said it's too hard and she would not be able to biospy it. She said she didn't think it was anything to worry about and said it was up to an X-ray to determine what it is. I had X-ray the same day and it showed nothing the radiology doctor came to see me because the lady taking the X-ray could see I was nervous. He felt it and said it is fine it's part of the costal cartiledge which is the area between where the ribs meet the sternum. He said he sees this often. I hope this helps. If your X-ray showed nothing then put your mind at rest. The doctor took me to see the X-ray and showed me. I said where is the lump and he said you can't see it as it's not a lump it's cartiledge which does not show on X-Ray's. If you had a tumor you would see it on an X-ray as a white area and they would see it and send you for further testing. If you have had the all clear from tests then please don't worry yourself, I stressed for a week and didn't eat, lost weight and generally felt sick with worry. If you are otherwise healthy you have nothing to worry about. All the best and take care of yourself.

Did you have a mammogram? You mentioned an exray. Was it an ultra sound? If you are not happy with what they told you - get another opinion. The normal progression is a mammogram, then ultra sound, then a biopsy. If you have dense breasts you could request an MRI. No one ever felt my mass. It was originally ductal. It was discovered in a mammogram and followed the progression I stated. Get as many opinions as needed until you are satisfied. Best wishes.

I did have a mammogram and they said it was just inflamed tissue. So I'm definitely keeping an eye on it!

I just found this post after my appointment today. I have a lump that appeared overnight 2 weeks ago under my clavicle on the right side. It is about the size of a quarter. It is hard and feels like a bone, but it appeared overnight so I thought it was some kind of bug bite. Had a series of xrays today which were inconclusive other than to say whatever it is is attached to the rib bone. I am having a CT Scan in a few days and will hopefully know more soon. Has this gone away for anyone?

Mine went away after one doctor was squeezing and pressing on it. Hurt like hell for a few days. Not sure if it's a good thing that the doctor was squeezing and pressing on it. But it's gone and no issues since.

Was yours hard before they squeezed on it? Mine feels like a bone. Glad to hear your lump is gone and has not come back! Sounds like worthwhile pain if it went away and has not reappeared!

What did they tell you it was?

It was hard. But I wasn't gonna be the one to sit and poke at it because of how bad it hurt. I wasn't pleased with the doctor either for doing that. The same day, later on, I had an ultrasound on it. The results of that came back as just a tissue mass/inflamed tissue. But then it had gone away.

For me the doctor told me that it was Costochondritis. I'm not sure it hasn't really bothered me a lot and it's still the same.

After X-rays, scans and a biopsy, it is a chondrosarcoma and runs the whole length of the rib. I am having surgery to remove my second rib and they said I should be fine after that. Crazy because this appeared out of nowhere and I have no other health issues.

Mine is the size of a tennis ball, it's very hard and noticeable in my clothes. I've had a mammogram, ultrasound and MRI done and they have all come back negative. It still bothers me because it doesn't feel normal, wondering if I should do a biopsy or have it removed 😤

I have the same problem too, it's hard like bone and like a golf ball size in my left chest under my collar bone. And I found out just last month I have another lumps just below in it in my breast.

Mine ended up being a chondrosarcoma bone tumor. They did a biopsy and told me it was benign and then went in and removed my second rib. Once they had the rib out, they found it was cancerous. I have to go back every 6 months for a scan. Hoping for no more lumps!

For mines I get in so much pain if there is pressure on it. Sometimes it starts hurting out of no where but rarely that happens. They say that it’s fine but I need a second opinion. I already did an X-ray and Ultrasound What else should I get? My primary doctor said that it shouldn’t hurt when touched because that means it’s inflamed.

Ask for an MRI with contrast. That is what showed them what mine was and how large it had become inside. My lump was the size of a golf ball on the surface. Keep bugging the doctor to figure out what it is.

I had X-rays, mammogram and ultrasound last few days. Chest X-ray result is normal but they requested a biopsy in my breast lumps. About my chest lumps they said it’s not included in my breast my gp said it’s in my chest wall, it hurts specially at night like felt I’m going to have a heart attack.

I'm super worried. I just got out the bath and was drying off and noticed a knot/bump below(2-3 inches) my left collar bone. I've never noticed it before. It doesn't hurt, it's hard to the touch. Today I experienced several times moments of dizziness... not sure if it's related.

Make an appointment for an xray. Mine was hard and did not hurt at all. I did not have dizziness at all. I just noticed the lump one day and was very concerned. Mine was a chondrosarcoma bone tumor. It is worth going to get it looked at. Please do!
